Altberg have been making boots for the Bristish MOD for over 20 years. They have a large range of boots originiating in Yorkshire, made in italy and supplied to Military and Police sources all over the world. The best know is probably the Defender high liability boots now renamed the Military Ops boot.

Defenders are a very cmfortable boot as soon as they are laced up. They have an Altberg absorbant footbed and an EVA midsole above a Vibram high grip outsole for any terrain. They offer plenty of shock absorbtion on hard or rocky ground and feel secure with excellen ankle protection for hiking and a wrap around rand to protect from stones and sharp objetcs.

They are a medim weight boot but with 2.4mm of leather build to above the ankle they give immediate confidence that they can tackle any obstacles you put in their way. They are breatbable and have a cambrelle water resistant lining which is quick drying. With regular coats of Altberg Leder Gris or similar on the leather, they are as water resistant as any leather boot can be and most users report they keep the water out even after a full days use in the wet.

As a go to boot for doing anything in all year round the defender is hard to beat, they are easy to clean, dry overnight if soaked, are very comfortable and can tackle anything from a dog walk to the pub, a day on the moors or a hike in Snowdonia. A true british go to boot for any outdoor need. Bootking like and recommends them. With a current RRP of £229 for £70 you can get a pair with very little wear and a long like ahead of them. And and they can easily be resoled giving you many years of hard use if needed.
