Giving a new life to great boots

Boots that are worn and pre-loved may still have plenty of life left in them. Simply applying Leder Gris or similar can feed the leather making it more supple and water resistant again . If the soles are worn they can easily be replaced and rands repaired along with eylets which may have broken. New laces make a huge difference and boots which may seem well past their useful life can be reconditioned to give many more thousands of miles of use.

How we recondition our boots

Description of our unique refurbishment process:

The condition of the boot is assessed for work needed

Laces are removed

Boot soles scrubbed with soap and water

Leather washed and cleaned as necessary with saddle soap and air dried for 24-48 hours

Insoles removed and washed or replaced

Insides cleaned

Insides sprayed with Detol Antibacterial spray

Any repairs to eyelets or rand undertaken

Scuffs removed and colour refreshed with leather cream

If it is deemed necessary the leather is recoloured with Fiebings leather dye to either original colour or darker colour to create a natural patina and sealed

Altberg leder gris is applied if necessary on dry leather and left for 24 hours to soak into leather then buffed

Boot cream is applied for finish so leather can breath

Insoles re-installed

New original or coloured laces installed

Final clean and brush

Condition accurately assessed for sale notes
